A&M-San Antonio has a Jaguar Excellence Guarantee to provide boundless opportunities to help you achieve your dreams. For all your paying for college needs, visit the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships office to deep dive into the funding available.

What does the Jaguar Promise cover?

The Jaguar Promise is a last-dollar promise program, which means that you may receive an institutional scholarship for “Jaguar Promise,” if there is a gap in funding after all other financial aid and scholarships are applied (not including loans). You will see a “Jaguar Promise” scholarship on your financial aid award offer only if there is the gap for the total cost of tuition, fees and books.*

*A book stipend of $300 per semester will be provided as part of the Jaguar Promise.

Am I eligable for scholarships on top of the Jaguar Promise?

Once you are admitted to the University, you will be able to apply for scholarships via ScholarshipUniverse, an online tool accessible on the Financial Aid & Scholarships website. All institutional and external scholarships will be applied to the total cost of tuition, fees and books* first. If there is still a funding gap then the Jaguar Promise will kick in and will be added to your Financial Aid Award Offer. Any additional scholarships can be applied to housing, food, transportation and living expenses. The priority deadline to apply for additional scholarships is March 15, 2025.

What is the deadline to be considered for the Jaguar Promise?

Students are encouraged to take early action to become eligible for Jaguar Promise. There are 3 main steps:

Apply for admission
Submit transcripts
Apply for financial aid

Students must submit their application for admission by the stated deadlines.

For high school students, the priority application deadline for Fall 2025 is January 15, 2025.
For transfer students, the priority application deadline for Fall 2025 is March 15, 2025.
For students wanting to enroll in the Spring 2025 semester, the priority application deadline is October 1, 2024.

The final step in the process is applying for financial aid. The priority deadline to complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA or TASFA is January 15, 2025 if you want to enroll for Fall 2025. If you want to enroll in the Spring 2025 semester, the FAFSA/TASFA deadline is October 1, 2024.
